Our schedule. I want to write this out just so I can look back and remember. The hard days, and the not so hard days. Cause lets be honest - there aren't any 'easy' days! haha!
Keegan and Noelle wake up for the day around 7:15 AM. We change diapers, set up our play area downstairs and either turn on the news or music. I try to wait until 7:30/7:45 to give them their first bottles of the day. After their bottles we play for awhile - usually under our play yard, with our musical toys, and they roll around on their blankets. Lately we have been adding in some oatmeal for breakfast before they get really sleepy. When Faith arrives in the morning, we bring them upstairs and set them up for the day. They are usually awake until 9:30/9:45 and then get really cranky and are ready for their morning nap. This one is usually about an hour. They wake up and play, and Faith gives them their next bottle around 10:45.
After their 10:45 bottle they play for awhile - in their excersaucer, bouncer, and with the different selection of toys they have upstairs. Around lunch time they get super tired and go down for their longest nap of the day. A couple hours, usually.
1:45 is when we shoot to give them their next bottle and then they play some more, and then another short nap. When Faith leaves in the afternoon, we bring the babies back downstairs and set them up on blankets in the living room so we can hang out the rest of the evening. Their late afternoon bottle is at 4:45, and after this bottle we keep them awake until they go to bed for the night. Our evening routine has been bottle, play, veggies, bath, bottle and bed. They have been going down around 8 pm every night! Which has been super nice because then we can hang out for a couple hours before crashing ourselves.
Keegan likes his sleep. He sleeps through until the AM, or wakes up once. I think those nights he wakes up are because he's been teething super bad and his gums hurt. Noelle wakes up once to eat, usually around 3/4, but goes back down super fast. Could be worse. :) I think she wakes up still because of her acid reflux. She spits up a lot during the day, so she gets hungry at night!
Of course this schedule doesn't happen every single day, but its what we aim toward. Sometimes we go out to dinner and do our best to keep them awake so they don't ruin their early bedtime. Sometimes we go for walks to replace their evening play time. (This has actually been happening quite regularly as the weather has cooled off!). I'm not super crazy schedule mom, but as a working mom of twins I need some sort of regularity so I don't lose my mind!!
So there it is. Their schedule at 6 days short of 6 months old.
Wow. 6 months.
